Ilene, what were you thinking?!

Far far away, in an alternate universve, Shane had sex with Bette.
And Tina. I'm so stunned that I can't even write an article. I'm just going to let the pictures speak for themselves.

The L Word Fan Wiki!

If, like me, you occasionally find yourself trawling wikipedia to check out L Word minutia, such as the name of the hot French girl Jenny got with at the end of Season Three, you'll be pleased to know that gay geekiness has reached new heights, with the L Word Fan Wiki!

There's already been some controversy, with one Shane fan editing Carmen's page to leave comments such as "raver skank", "manipulative", and "Shane left Carmen after two years abuse at her hands".

Ok, so blanking your girlfriend because you had a dream she flew away with a bird is pretty weird, but over-reaction much? And lets not forget that these are
fictional characters, ladies...

But still, who can resist the temptation to spend hours writing your own version of why dana should never had died, or why Tina and Bette have to get back together, and feel that no, you are not wasting time, you are in fact doing a service to other fans? Not me!

The L Word's Shane Parties With Paris Hilton

A suprise celebrity guest stunned the press when she showed up at the L Word Season Five premiere party in West Hollywood last sunday. I mean, who would expect Paris Hilton to be a fan of the worlds' biggest lesbian TV show?

She was snapped wearing a black wig, perhaps to hide from the 'razzi (because she's so camera-shy, our Paris), and dancing with L Word star Daniela Sea.

Marc Malkin's eyewitness report says that "Hilton and Moennig whispered to each other, wrapped their arms around each other, did shots, smoked cigarettes and took photos." The two certainly look quite cosy in these photos...

Apparently after the premiere party, Paris was seen leaving with Kate, and an eyewitness emailed Malkin at about 11:30 p.m, to say that Paris and Kate had been spotted "holding hands" and partying together at the lesbian night in Falcon, a popular WeHo nightclub.

We're all sick and tired of straight celebrities kissing girls for publicity, a trend that Paris is certainly not a stranger to, so is this just a celebrity reporter assuming she's doing her usual trick of getting drunk and hitting on women, or could Paris and Kate actually be close to each other?

And what of the rumours that Paris was spotted talking to L Word creator Ilene Chaiken at the party, before apparently "exchanging numbers"? “Paris wants to be on the show” Malkin's source said. Will there be a new addition to the cast next year? Watch this space...

Fanfiction For Alice Fans!

Finally, some L Word fanfiction on Dark and Bright!
is a site dedicated to showcasing fic about everyone's favourite neurotic radio-host, and has the best 'ship names ever.
Dana/Alice is the yummy sounding Danish, Gabby/Alice stories are Galore, and Lara/Alice is fragile Lace...
It has a clean, simple layout, and unlike other L Word fic sites, isn't cluttered with annoying adverts. And the fic's quite good too!

The L Word Season Five Promo Shots

It's that time of year again: We're all eagerly awaiting the latest season of The L Word, and the tantalising promo shots are released! As I haven't even seen Season Four, posting this has been absolute torture for me...

Aw, Jenny and Shane bored at the gym...For some reason I like to imagine them as sulky teenagers at the back of the PE class...

An oddly sexy dress for Mama T...

Oh Shane, what have they done to your hair?

Although here it's a rather handy excuse for the personal trainer to get a bit more intimate...

And more bad hair! Poor Kit, she looks like one of those perky little dogs!

I was going to insert a tasteless "bench-press" joke here, but I decided not to.

Crispay Soup Chef In Art-Porn Shock!

Everyone remembers Lara Perkins, the Crispay Soup Chef who stole Dana's heart in the first season of The L Word, right ?
With her cute button-nose, sexy strawberry-blonde hair, and way with grilled vegetables, Lauren Lee Smith won our hearts and a whole legion of lesbian fans.

However, the Canadian actress is definitely not shagging girls in her new film Lie With Me.

She plays Leila "a sexually voracious young woman who connects with men through brief physical encounters."
She meets David, played by Six Feet Under's Eric Balfour at a house party and "later, as she has casual sex with a stranger just behind the house, David and his girlfriend mirror her actions in their car. Leila and David's eyes lock as they watch each other having sex with others, a courtship ritual that initiates their own sexual affair." Whoah.

Now, it may be a little disappointing that this is a het romance, but that scene sounds sexy enough to set the screen on fire! Us watching them watching each other...Voyeuristic much?

Apparently the film contains pretty much every kind of sex act imaginable, and the main stars spend about half the film naked and I'm not entirely sure, but a certain amount of the sex in the film is unsimulated.I doubt the majority is real, but Wikipedia seems pretty sure that it contains "unsimulated genital fondling".

Now that just puts me off.I'm by no means a prude, so it is just the fact that I'm used to thinking of Lauren Lee as sweet and rather innocent Lara that makes me feel unconfortable about this film?

I suppose at this point I should apologise for including all those screenshots of such a filth-fest, but I have no excuse, rather than to provide a contrast between the two roles.

Lacey Online!

Tammy Lynn Micheals (The L Word's Lacey and Mrs Melissa Etheridge) has her very own blog right here on Blogspot!

http://hollywoodfarmgirl.blogspot.com/

It's mostly written in Haiku form, which is...interesting.

I love how she lists Melissa Etheridge as one of her favourite musicians!

Also, I found this quote from Teen Vogue - Spring 2001, which really backs up Tammy Lynn Micheals' Dykon status:

"It was only the fourth or fifth episode of Popular, and I was in the hair-and-makeup trailer, going over my lines for the next scene."You have to lose weight," Betty ordered, rolling up the tape measure. "You've gotten very heavy, Tammy."
My jaw dropped. My heart raced. I began to sweat icicles. ...
Even though I had heard about Hollywood's obsession with thinness, I never though I'd be seeing the issue face-to-face --- especially at size 4.
So instead of dutifully striving to meet those unrealistic standards, I challenged them. I spoke to one of our producers, a woman who was visibly angry. She told me not to lose the weight and to forget Betty's remarks. Betty didn't come back after the first season. I got support. It was so great."

She's hot, but she's not THAT hot...

I came across this quite cute wallpaper that someone had constructed of the very lovely Ms Moennig. And then I read the poem. Now, you probably can't make it out on the picture, so I have typed it out (removing the author's name):

To Kate Moennig,

I would say you are the one to change the world entirely.
Looking at you, I mean, is there any man more woman than you?
Or is there any woman more man than you?

You are the one and you know it.

Someone in between genders and cannot be captured completely by either definition of them.
I am sorry for being so worldless because there is no single word in my dictionary has the capacity to hold the whole you in.

Okay, first off, pretty poem, nice wallpaper. And if you've read any of this site, you probably know that I have a slight obsession with Kate. And thats normal. What red-blooded queer girl doesn't ?
However, am I the only person who finds that poem a little bit stalkery?

Paranoid Kitten's Fanfiction

http://dress-fic.livejournal.com has some of the best slash fanfiction that I've ever read. Her Pieces are mostly short and sweet but she has the knack of really capturing the essence of the character, and of making the most unusual pairings seem possible. JD and Dr Cox from Scrubs, anyone? It might seem completely ridiculous now, but when you've read this... dress-fic.livejournal.com/103910.html

There's a plethora of Buffy and Angel ficlets too, with some Harry Potter femslash thrown in for good measure! There's some rather nice Danish (Dana/Alice) L Word femslash too, and a bucketload of other fic from pretty much every tv series imaginable.

It's well worth checking out, especially as Paranoid Kitten is so good at writing that she can make Black Books fic worth reading.Definitely one of my favourite fanfiction writers.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Vs The L Word

http://logo-blogs.com/afterellen/2007/01/16/why-buffy-the-vampire-slayer-is-better-than-the-l-word/ pits two of my favourite shows against each other...

On the plus side, featuring Buffy and The L Word is a surefire way to get on this website!

WARNING: If you haven't seen the third season of The L Word, or you don't know why people are buying tshirts that say "Dana!? Why Not Jenny?" you probably don't want to read that article.

The L Word Season Two Promo Video

This video is really quite adorable, it's a promo for Season Two of The L Word, and it just breaks my heart as Tina ignores Bette...But Carmen coming up from under the covers and snuggling with Shane is just too damn cute!

Some Things You Probably Didn't Know About The L Word

Eric Mabius wasn't the original choice to play Tim.He was originally played by Scott Bairstow (pictured below).

The L Word:Welcome To Our Planet book states that Tim was originally an anthropologist, but after viewing the pilot, the Showtime executives said that they didn't like that, so the character was rewritten as a swim coach, and as Scott Bairstow wasn't very convincing due to his small frame, they recast Eric Mabius in the role.

However, http://thelwordonline.com/ states the Bairstow lost the role due to allegations of sexual assualt on a minor...Odd how they wanted to gloss over that fact...

Pam Grier's character, Kit, was written completely differently. In the first version of the pilot, she was a lesbian performance artist and videographer, and she had the chart tattooed on her back.

Is it just me, or is that idea just damn weird? The Chart, the massive, tangled web of relationships, shags and one night stands tattooed on her back?

L Word Season Four Promos: The last lot, I swear!

Is that Kristanna Lokken next to Shane? I think it might be...

OH MY GOD. It's the return of Cherie Jaffe!

L Word Season Four Promos: Out of formalwear! Round Quatre

And now, the best for last: Yet more new blonde characters. The lady in the first photo is apparently called Phyllis, and looks quite Power-Lesbian-y, perhaps a foil for Bette?

The woman in the second two is credited as Jodi, yet she looks suspiciously similar as the woman credited as Marlee posing with Bette here: http://allthatsbestofdarkandbright.blogspot.com/2006/12/more-l-word-promos.html If anyone could shed some light on this it would be appreciated.Maybe I'm getting characters and actresses' names mixed up?

And last but not least, two rather sweet pics of our Shane, looking quite upbeat, which is good.

L Word Season Four Promos: Out of formalwear! Round Trois

Some very uncharacteristic photos now, Alice in an ugly shirt, and Helena looking quite adorable! Flame me at will.
